Romeo at the Clippers Game

Legit! My Homie Romeo at Saturdays Clippers game - Photo by Anwar Torres/Clippers Photography

My childhood friend Romeo was at last weeks Clippers - Warriors home game and had the opportunity to meet Stephen Curry. He asked if he could bring one of my signs so I offered him my "Let's go Warriors" sign I did for opening night. Here's a great shot of Curry signing the poster. For those of you that know, when I make my signs for home games it's straight "cookie cutter" style from Kinko's.

Basically, to save money I'd print my 20"x25" in six 8"x10" panels and paste all of them together on a poster foam board. The total cost would be less than $15. At the end of the game I'd usually give it to a kid or something. Now, Costco offers these printing at 20"x30" for $7.99. Those days of rushing to Kinko's for copy and pasting to foam boards are long gone!

Coolin' with Warriors Hype-Man Franco Finn

We met Warriors Hype-Man Franco Finn 5 years ago at my cousin's wedding. The guy has always been a class act. No matter how busy he is at games, he always takes the time to say what's up to friends, family and Warrior Fans alike. That means a lot to us, he's in the public spotlight and is a positive presence around everyone. I've got nothing bad to say about the guy, Warrior games are always fun with the GTOe TV Crew in Oracle Arena.

Franco politely asked me how business was going financially with the Warriors related art I do. I'll be honest with everyone, 2 years ago I really tried to make it work. I had this idea about getting paid and using the exposure I already had to make bank. For me, I tried to hard, expected too much and that pursuit of getting paid became work. I became inconsistent, my drawings were kinda dull (wow, Monta dunking...) and I didn't have the passion I did when The Warriors made it to the playoff's in 07' in my drawings. I felt like I was drawing just to make money.

When 2011 rolled by, I had this goal. Take no more clientele and just have fun drawing! it's only been a little over 3 weeks and I'm having the time of my life. I'm drawing consistently, my idea's are amusing and I'm interacting and having fun (via my twitter and Facebook pages) with my friends, fans and followers. I'm having fun illustrating because I'm not trying to sell anyone anything. (I do sell shirts, but it's on you if you see the humor, lol) I told Franco, "I haven't been this happy drawing since the 07' We Believe Warriors, that was hella fun!" Hapiness > money any day.

Sneak Peek: "All-Star" - Monta Ellis

Here's a sneak peek at my "Obama" style "Monta: All-Star" design. This is completely being drawn. None of that half ass "ObamaMe.com" cookie cutter shit. Bringing this design to the Warriors - Bulls game in February. The All-Star push for Ellis continues!

Operation: All-Star - Monta Ellis

Monta Ellis has the numbers, the skills and the talent... As a Warriors fan, I'm sick of our team getting snubbed during the All-Star Break! Last Warrior All-Star was Latrell Spreewell back in 97'! From here on out till the Roster is official, you'll be seeing a lot of "All-Star" propaganda from me, lol. Spread the word! Let's get Ellis to Los Angeles this year! The man deserves it! VOTE HERE! Warriors vs Lakers Preview

Tony.psd's prediction - Warriors upset: Flawless Victory.

The concept behind this was simple. Lakers at Golden State tonight! These are the games I love going to, our Arena will be filled with thousands of Laker fans. Cheers and boo's on opposite directions. It doesn't get better than this. I was in charge of writing up todays Warriors - Lakers preview for Golden State of Mind and when I thought of this exciting match up (or battle, so to speak) Mortal Kombat came to mind. So I whipped up the player select screen from the game. Redid it entirely since a lot of the images on-line were low resolution. I'll see you at the game tonight! Win or lose, Go Warriors! Follow the open thread on GSoM.

Monta Ellis - Thank Me Later

Monta Ellis is more than just an NBA All-Star option... HEY! HEY! HEY! (lol, I hate that song)

First post of 2011! Let's look at Monta Ellis's numbers for the season: 25.6 pts., 3.4 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game... I hope the NBA is seeing this, I'm sick of seeing Golden State get snubbed for an All-Star spot, Ellis deserves it with numbers like this! As for the cover, it's a mash up take on Drake's Thank me later cover art. Thought it would be funny to place Monta's face on it. It's an ugly cover but was one of the hottest albums of 2010 so folks will be familiar with the parody concept. Enjoy!

New Wallpaper art: Curry and Ellis

It's crazy how time passes you by so quickly! First post in almost 3 weeks, my bad. I was listening to Run D.M.C.'s "King of Rock" album and their cover art came to mind. I want to get back to the playful concepts I used to do with our Warriors so you'll definitely be seeing more of that. It's too early for me to create that "Run" Monta, Curry and Lee parody since their chemistry isn't 100%, this right here is a teaser.

Thanksgiving Turkey Trot! San Jose, CA

Turkey Trot 2010, hanging with my brothers William (left) and Andrew (right)

I wanted to do something different this year than just eat massive amounts of food, go through food coma and gain 2-3 pounds in a single day. My brother William suggested "Hey let's do the Turkey Trot!" So me, my wife and 2 brothers (William and Andrew) ventured out with almost 15,000 other folks from San Jose, CA for the 6th annual Silicon Valley Turkey Trot. A run walk event that not only gets you active in 30 degree weather but raises money for various charities like the Second Harvest Food Bank. It was a great experience and something I plan to make a family tradition with friends and family.

I just want to thank my brothers Will and Andrew for encouraging me and my wife to do this. They've encouraged and helped us maintain a more healthy lifestyle. Week in and week out we work out at the gym together, I look at it as moral support and that extra push to meet my goals. 2 hours at the gym isn't a cake walk with them, there's calories to be burned and a mentality to stay focused. Thanks guys, I couldn't do it without you both!
