Tony.psd's "Moving Sale"
It's been a fun ride here in the City of Suisun. Last weekend my wife and I conducted our first ever "Moving Sale." We sold a lot of furniture, home decor/accents, tools, toys, clothes and shoes. In the end, we sold about 80% of the stuff! We started with a garage full of things to sell and ended up with a little over 7-8 boxes that we will be donating to local charities. We'd like to thank all of our neighbors who stopped by and picked something up. It's a shame we all just met for the first time. We interacted with a lot of cool people and made some new friends along the way. Everyone in Peterson Ranch is a class act! We had a lot of fun!

STF BMX - 594 Apparel design
Here's a first look at the STF BMX - 594 Apparel "Start the Fiesta" shirt design I had the opportunity in creating. The concept behind the design was based on a popular bottle cap. It's all vector art layed out on Adobe Illustrator. I'm glad the folks over at STF and 594 were happy with the design. STF BMX is a lifestyle bike shop dedicated to giving you the best service and building the BMX scene in the bay area. Since 2000, 594 Apparel has provided clothing for art and expression by creating an avenue to promote illegal art... LEGALLY. Don't sleep on both of these cats!

First look: Tony.psd's design studio
11 years ago when I graduated and received my degree in graphic arts communication I told myself "One day, I want to have my own design studio... where I can do what I love most" The first thing on my mind was landing a job in the field and I did, respectively. I've been a corporate designer for 11 years and it's been a roller coaster ride of strict deadlines, grueling proofing rounds and everything else in between. At the same time I learned so much from my peers about how the industry works and becoming a better, more efficient designer as each year passed. Experience is something no one can take from you. In April, I was let go of my job of 7 years and I did not look at it as a negative thing, I saw it as a blessing.
The pictures you see above is my future design studio of Tony.psd. (We actually just rented a space, it's not the whole building lol) It's located in the heart of Silicon Valley. (Santa Clara to be exact.) Tony.psd will become a full time establishment for myself. This is my new 9-5. (or until each project is completed) I'm not going to be doing freelance work anymore on the side. I'm going to me my own boss with a set schedule, a long list of goals and a budget to get the company moving. I'll be focusing on my personal line of designs and apparel alongside helping those in need of graphic services that are printed or apparel based. I'll be involved with label fairs, festivals and street events. I'd also like to participate with San Jose's creative art community and collaborate with others.
This is where I see my future, we don't always have this opportunity to realize what we want to do with our lives. I'm thankful it came sooner than expected. "If you do what you love, you'll never have to work a day in your life." - Unknown.

DJ Eternal album mix cover
DJ Eternal of Black Grapes / Funk Lab fame approached me with a cover concept for his upcoming reggae mix "Midnight Island Beach Party." It was a fun idea to take on, Eternal was great to work with and had a lot of ideas for me to research. I hope to do more work with DJ Eternal in the future. I discovered him from a few of my friends recommending him for my "He's the DJ, I'm the Designer" series with the friends saying his mixes are "clean as hell." Eternal will be featured on volume 3 by the way!
Check out DJ Eternal's Facebook and Twitter page. Don't forget to cop a mix cd!
