Sneak Peek: Tony.psd's studio get's a facelift!

Here's a little sneak peek on the remodeling we're finally doing at the studio. After 7 months, we put up the wall posters and the banner on the wall. My project table has been organized (there used to be stacks of paperwork, sketches and comic books all over the place) with more shelving and wall art to follow. Enjoy!

First Look: DieHard Co. Designs

I recently had the pleasure of working for San Jose based apparel company "Die Hard Co." (formerly Mayberry Workshop) who hired me to design 5 of their latest t-shirt designs. It was a great working with these guys. I've always been a fan of their simple, yet effective branding towards the sports market. They've got a great fan base of supporters and were a joy to work with. Here are the 5 designs I completed for them - they pay tribute to each respected bay area sports team but with that "Die Hard Co." twist.

Follow them on their official Facebook page and don't forget to "sport your teams colors!"

Now in stock: "I'm just doing my job"

For those of you that know, this was my very first shirt release under the Tony.psd brand. Long before I had an on-line store or a design studio. I kept my orders small, posted a few pics on my Facebook page and sold it out of my car trunk via "word of mouth." We've come a long way from that, lol. The term "I'm just doing my job" was a quote Manny Pacquiao minutes after knocking out his opponent Ricky Hatton. That symbolic quote still has the same meaning today but with the humbleness of just doing what you do best.

For the first time since 2009, this shirt has been reprinted (men's small - 3XL) to celebrate my 3 year anniversary of what I love doing most: being creative. It's been a pleasure designing and creating these fun designs, I absolutely appreciate the business and your continued support!

Recap: SJ Made Spring 2012

I finally attended my first San Jose Made event located at San Pedro Square in beautiful downtown San Jose. I had a lot of fun browsing through the aisles of local vendors and treating myself to some tasty treats. It was awesome chatting with local businesses and sharing ideas. Being a San Jose native I saw friends I haven't seen in some time so catching up was a major plus. People are doing their thing in San Jose, I couldn't be happier. Looking forward to the next event - Sorry for my lack of pics, I took snap shots when I could. I was just excited to be there!

Custom Kids Invite

Yep, I still do custom kids invites on the side. Whatever the kid wants for his birthday invitation I aim to make it as cool looking as possible. Inquire: info.tonypsd@gmail.com

First Look: DJ Marvilless Logo

Here's my attempt at recreating the "illest" logo for DJ Marviless who plans to make stickers out of these. It took a little more work than expected but got the curves right. There's no exact font to the original logo so I had to make my own cursive letters out of other fonts that were similar.

Record Store Day - April 21st, 2012

Fam, take a break from downloading MP3's and support local record stores like Streetlight Records, Amoeba's and Rasputin Music on "Record Store Day," Saturday - April 21st. They're the last of a dying breed!

For more info visit "Record Store Day's" official website. MP3's are convenient but mom and pop shops like Streetlight Records and Amoeba's started it all.

Preview: Levy Tran (vector art)

It's been so busy at my studio that I never got to finish this vector drawing of superstar model and fellow bay area natice Levy Tran. I started on this last February and just haven't gotten back to it. If anything it's the detail work on her tattoo's that is going to take some time - getting those right is important of course. One of these days I'll get back to it.

First Look: Cool Breeze - Kevvy Kev Documentary

A couple weeks ago I had mentioned that I was designing a cover for a legendary Bay Area DJ - that icon is none other than DJ Kevvy Kev highlighting his "longest running" hip hop show "The Drum 90.1" in a documentary directed by John Reps. Release date TBA.

Season Opener - Go Giants!

Past vector illustration from last season. A new one is in the works!

Happy Giants Day! It's the start of another great season! Although we took a loss tonight there is much, much more baseball to be played! We'll get em' next game Timmy!

Logo Design: Roque Images

When my childhood friend who's also become a kick ass photographer hired me to design his logo we brainstormed a ton of ideas that gave him more options than I usually give my other clients. Through these comps we tweaked and improved on what would be his final watermarked logo. Here are samples of what we came up with.
